at home, you?
what is it? iv been looking into it after virgin have been having problems in my area for about 8 months, so looking for an alternative

nah the upload is only up to 2mb, has to do with them cutting costs to pass it on to the customer apparently

i imagine it would be as hit and miss at bt's product , only major downside that i can see other than the upload speed is the fact that the forum staff arent yet equipped to deal with support so you have to talk to the phone monkeys

No problems with TALK TALK here, in fact if it wasn't for them I'd be stuck, luckily they do LLU where I'm living now ;)

their customer support is easily the worst I have personally dealt with...but as said in that review they are also easily the cheapest isp

I've been with talktalk for a while. Pretty terrible.

Tried to upgrade to fibre optic, the bt engineer came round and did everything he was supposed to do but low and behold, talk talk had not set it up properly at their end so the engineer had to put us back on ADSL and left.

Going to go with BT instead.

I've only ever dealt with their support through their forums and it was fine, never had any need to call them.

I used to be with NTL (Virgin) and to be honest if you ever had a problem it was better just left to "rectify itself" (which it always did) rather than frustrate yourself by calling support.

This - currently trying to sort issues out at the moment and as they have been over the years, they're still very helpful.

i've been on talktalk for many years and only had to deal with their phone support once- terrible! but, i've posted in their forums once or twice and never had a problem!
For an extra tenner for the fibre service (and installation fee of course) i'll stick it out with them when i can afford to get it!

Agree about their forum support, very good indeed. I would also be stuck with miserable BT sub 2 meg dowwnload speed rather than the rock steady 6 meg from Talk's LLU.

I think Talk would be better off with no phone support (it only makes their reputation worse) It should be made clear on sign up that the forums are the place to sort problems out.

I suppose some phone support is necessary for those who can't get online at all, but once online they should be directed to the forums.

got it in, and now im sendign it back, they said they tested my phone line and it was working.....guess what....they lied, my phone line does not work at all, and they want 120 quid to come out and fix it? F that!!

As we all keep saying (we being current TT customers), you don't want to deal with their phone support, ever.

If you must have good phone support then sadly TT is not for you. For everyone else, it's a great service at a very low price.

Again, their forum support is brilliant.
