*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

All.

But they've said it's on a first come first serve basis, so the later you sign up the later the head start is(?????????). This is new to any MMO I've played and unfair to those who got keys late due to tardy managing by EA and/or retailers.

I pre-ordered from Coolshop and didn't get any code.

Now what? :p

And BTW, does the "first come first serve" apply to the headstart only?

I'm not too bothered about starting a week after those who pre-ordered from other places since I paid half the original price on Origin and a fifth of what the nuts that bought the Collector's Edtion did but I would be peeved if they limited players after that period, though.

The coolshop one I've placed doesn't include a head start or item. Think it's game, play & the rainforest that seemingly may be mentioned or not, along with origin.

Still for £26 I'm happy enough :)

Unless they send it to us at a later date?

I believe all retailers have emailed keys out now, game said I'd have to wait a week on the order page but it only took 5 days.

If they haven't sent it get on the phone asap, they shouldn't be doing this. (or email them).
My brother ordered it from the "store in my country" and he had to email them to get the pre-order code.

Just checked the SWTOR FAQ and yeah, it looks like every pre-order should be granted the Early Access.

Just emailed Coolshop and we'll see how it goes.

I honestly don't think Cool Shop are part of the pre-order offer for early access, they're just offering the game at a cheap price.

Let us know what you find out Krugga. Would be a bonus if we get access too and pay so much less.

Do coolshop charge on pre-ordering, or on dispatch?

I pre-ordered through the rainforest but just cancelled that (got my early start code registered obviously :p) but prefer the idea of £27 to £39.99

It's unfortunately only for the retailer that it mention on the website. The only one in the UK doing codes is GAME.

As everyone involved in the pre-order campaign cancelled exisiting orders and put the price up, it would just be my luck that at some point Cool Shop are going to drop the bomb that they mispriced and follow suit.

No, Game are doing the collectors edition, the others are just the standard edition.

Yeah, the three I mentioned are the only standard edition preorders mentioned on the official site, therefore I would assume they're the only ones with the preorder bonuses.

Let us know how you get on though Krugga :)

Hi there,

I pre-ordered Star Wars The Old Republic PC game from you on 25th of July, Order #numbers, and would like some information on when you are planning to start sending the Early Game Access codes as per this information - http://www.swtor.com/preorder/faq#q209656
.

The Early Game Access is granted on first come, first serve basis so it would be nice if you could solve this issue as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Mr Krugga

Dear Mr Krugga,

Thank you for your email.

The best thing to do would be to contac out live chat, they should be able to help you.

Yours sincerely,

Samuel L.

Coolshop Support Team

They're quick.

Unfortunately the Live Chat is closed at 5 and I'll be in another country tomorrow, not sure if I'll have the time to contact them.

This is such a disappointing game, I bet 70% of players chuck it in, in the first month, hard pressed to see how they could have made it worse....and yes I do know.

Pretty sad as I had massive hopes for this game ..I would say that all u guys buying the ce version get the normal one first ..then if its for u you can always buy the CE version later

I doubt many will pay attention as you have not backed up your belief with any reasoning. There are members on here that have played it for a month and were impressed enough to preorder so would be nice if you could clarify your position with a little bit more detail.

I presume either the beta wasn't to your liking, or the game design choices were not the ones you would have chosen, fair enough.

I've not played the game yet, but know enough that I am willing to give it a shot. It may not set new standards, but I can't see it bombing as some would have you believe.

I'm not gonna go into depth about this ..and I have pre-ordered the game as well, as we will as a guild play it.

I will just add 2 things to this.. roughly 70% of the beta players stopped playing the game after about 2 weeks.(maybe not totally but they would log in every one or two days for short periods to see if the patches made a difference)
And the longest thread on the beta forums is why did you not pre-order/'buy the game.

And yes there were players who enjoyed the game, not doubting that at all, I was in the Beta Bunnies guild(the only real big beta guild) so I have heard both sides but for every person who enjoyed it 6/7 did not.

Its not only a rail space game( which funny enough I quite enjoyed except that I'm a old time gamer and like my mouse inverted and for some reason you cant invert mouse while flying your ship:().Its a on rails MMO its so linear you would not believe it.

I'm not saying people should not buy it ..what I'm saying is buy the cheapest version first then decide later!

I kind of agree with what you are saying about it being quite linear. Although MMO's these days aren't the sandbox games they used to be. My first impressions of the game were, "The cinematics, voiceovers, and story are brilliant", later followed with frustration feeling that I was resticted to having to play the game level by level and not being free to do my own thing. I think the biggest dissapointment for me was that for a long time I had hoped this would be Star Wars Galaxies 2 - but it's not.

I think as long as you manage your expectations you wont be dissapointed.

This game isnt the game I was hoping for, however I still enjoyed this game from what I played in beta, it's just not the same type of game like SWG that I could play non stop.

Now I know what to expect I'm just looking forward to playing through the stories of all the different classes and enjoying the game as though it were KotOR 3. :)
