Gave parking ticket to someone else and now being threatened with a fine

I couldn't believe it when he said it. It's like being fined for being nice.

Can he use my reg to send a fine to my home address? I'll be moving house in a couple of weeks and hopefully have sold the car as well.

Bloody hell a bit of an overreaction :D

Unfortunatley, car parks are money-making machines, and the staff they hire are there to ensure that as much money is being made as possible.

Even if you get a fine sent through the post, just chuck it.

Outrageous, the parking ticket is for a space in the car park not for a specific car, no legitimate reason why it cannot be transferred.

Where on the machine does it say the ticket is non transferable? What contract was entered into exactly?

HA HA good luck to him if it's a private car park and just some rent-a-warden laugh in his face as they can not prosecute you. Whereas if it is a council owned and run car park then expect a fine and or court summons.

Tesco are the best ones just park where you like and throw the ticket in the bin on the way out.

This would've been my reaction to his fine claim.

I didn't have a clue you weren't allowed to do this. Done it a few times myself.

Hope you don't get the fine :(.

My mum rushed my brother to hospital, had to park on a double yellow as he was unconscious (fractured skull) and a warden said "you can't park there!"

Only time I've heard my mum swear.

I'd never normally muck about at a hospital but honestly if it were me I'd have nutted him :D

You fancied her so gave her your phone number, only piece of paper you had was the parking ticket so you wrote it on that. If she decided to then use that ticket that was her choice not your intent

Did you used to represent OJ Simpson?

Can you not just forget about it?
If it ever did get to the stage where you were being fined £1000 for an act of kindness then you'd be hit news with all the rubbish newspapers and morning tv shows, they'll pay it for you*.

It's win/win.

Not quite sure how they'd justify £1000 for such a minor offense, it's utterly laughable. Scum traffic wardens without a shred of decency don't help either...

*Might not happen.

You cannot be fined for parking unless its by a council appointed official or a police officer, of which this guy sounds like he was neither.

Quite why we are on 2 pages about this I'm not sure I understand.

Less clicking on 80.

I prefer to click and read. Can't understand the default setting.. Always seems like the thread is hundreds of times longer because you get 5 posts on a page*

*exaggerated for comic effect
