It isnt really a home cinema projector its more aimed at presentations etc.
£250 isnt going to buy you a new HC projector.
The Optoma HD600x at £399 is your best new bet if you can stretch your budget.
Or second hand go for an optoma hd700x for around £200 which is what I did and very glad I did too.

as dan said, if you got a strict budget its best to go second hand, AVforums have a good classified section where you can pick up a few bits and bobs

Try looking at some older 720p projectors such as the Sanyo Z3 (which is what i've got, not sure of their 2nd hand prices now, I dread to look as I bought mine brand new!)

They go for around the £280 Mark depending on lamp usage, but of course don't have warranty.

You need to be careful when buying 2nd hand on how long is left on the lamp. Lamps within the budget range you are looking at will cost around the £100-150 mark to replace.

just to back up the others, save a little more and get a 720p worth it in the long run (optoma HD60 or the Acer H5360)
