335i M Convertible

Strike me up as another 335i owner who hasn't had any high pressure fuel pump issues yet.

Have owned mine for pretty much two years to the day. Plus I'm one of those mad, crazy fools who owns one without a warranty as well.

Mostly just a severe case of can't be arsed!
I was actually discussing this same thing with DRZ at the last London meet.

I really should sort out a warranty at some point (before anything goes wrong!) especially seeing as mine's still not even done 40K miles yet, so I should get a decent deal.

Yes its really worth doing esp considering its under 60k now so it will not cost very much. It just takes a quick phone call 0871 200 0199, I think if you remove the breakdown cover it saves around 10 quid per month. You still get the emergency cover which is enough anyway (I get AA cover free with my credit card anyway).

It'll be interesting to see whether my dad's 535i GT has the same issues..
I've heard that the N55 can also suffer from HPFP failure, so I guess we'll jus wait and see.

He managed to get 4 years full BMW warranty on it though so it doesn't really matter if it does go bang.

Seems to be a new recall on UK 335i's according to the forums. Gonna call BMW UK now to see if I can book mine it, my car fits the build dates anyway.

Not the pump, but seems to be injectors

Is it just one HP pump on these high power I6 engines?

I imagine BMW didnt quite as far as other OEMs have gone with the fuel pump tappet coatings ;)

Thats the one.

I'm waiting on a call back. Ive had what seems like mild fuel cut 2 or 3 times in the hot weather for some reason, hoping this will resolve it.

Err no, its not the same one at all. This one relates to the injectors not the pump.

Never mind but these things do seem to hit the US before us. Have they said how long this one is going to take?

Just called dealer. They want my car in to inspect all the injectors.

Mine do not need to be checked.

lets hope this puts an end to the issue.

I have new alloy wheel on the way as one of them has cracked AGAIN!
