the uav smoke is epic though, fires like 3 smoke grenades at once each at least twice the size of a 40mm cloud.

one of them can completely cover an approach or render a bunch of camping snipers/medics completely useless so the team can push.

my engi kit is xm8 c (i like the spammy quickness of it from the hip over the ump, (but the ump is very good) for when i'm moving) 1t4, never leave home without that useful for tanks, people choppers and emplacements. m9 lightweight and explosive mark 2.

yeah they don't fly straight do they so you have to pretty much touch the guy :p

I've done it a few times, best one was when i think it was trigger was inside a building. My uav was up against the window, He walked in front and..

PUFF, 3 Smoke Grenades at once in the face :p

*always* ump45, m9, CG if I'm not going to be taking on any tanks, RPG otherwise. Then I'll take lightweight pack and usually magnum ammo, swapping out for explosives upgrade if I really want to take out a tank and sometimes playing with armour. I'm still not convinced that the advantage if confers is worth it, though the ump45 is so powerful that it doesn't really need magnum ammo.

I cant use the ump45 due to the obstructive iron sights.

It actually fires from the hip really well. I guess you could always use red-dot with it but it would be a waste of a slot. Most of the engineer weapons rock to be honest (apart from the scar) so swapping out for another isn't really the end of the world.

been using the scar for a week or so and it does take a bit of getting used to,some days it works others it just doesnt register,so its a quick switch to rpg and alls good :)

Sicko :p

I really can't get on the the scar. Something just doesn't gel with it for me.

It's the only engineer weapon I've not platted.

I bought a copy of BC2 a couple of weeks ago, so I've not been playing long (though I did play a fair bit of Battlefield 2 back in the day)...It is a great game, but I think the odds are a bit weighted against noob players - not only are you usually competing with people who've been playing for months and know the maps inside out, but they also have the advantage of all the unlocks (armour, scopes, better guns etc)

the first guns are generally the best.

hardly anyone ever plays with armour.

you don't need the scopes

it should only take you about a week to max out a class (even less if you start pinching dead medics kits and using their kits on people to uber level your chosen class)

If you want to rack up a lot of points, play as medic, throw out health packs at every opportunity. Believe it or not, on certain classes the beginning weapons are actually very good, the m24 in recon being a good example. Probably the best sniper rifle in the game. Once you unlock magnum ammo, this really helps, round lvl 8 iirc. The scopes on the assault weapons arent great tbh, i was a long time x4 scope user, went to iron sights and actually improved my kill rate, (the x4 scope was terrible up close, as it blocks out your field of view). Enabling the lightweight perk means you can move a lot faster as well.

Stab Stab Stabby Stab and No uav in sight :D

best way to level fast is steal a medics kit, you get kits paddles and good gun + any points you get fro musing go to your original class (which isn't balanced for the medic's points)

so as recon/assault with a medic's kit you level insanely fast

Good tip, thanks, I didn't know that, I will definitely be hunting for medics from now on :D

I suppose that's the downside of buying a game that's been out for a year - you get it cheap, but you have to play against more experienced players, though then again, it looks like I've also avoided having to deal with a lot of bugs etc.

One other thought: I wonder if EA will release the server files for it when the online interest in the game dies off - it'd be great to be able to play it on a LAN.
