Intel® Xeon® Processor W3580 VS i7920

That will be a horrible waste of money, i see nothing to differentiate it really from a standard Quad 1366 i7 apart from the Qpi and since yours is overclocked to 3.8 already, you won't see a lick of difference, plus it won't overclock any better.

Are you running SLI as per your sig?

Im sure ive read ( on these forums ) that with a Xeon CPU installed SLI cannot be enabled.

yes I am running SLI.....So I wouldnt see much difference in performance then......Was hoping I would see a big improvement as that CPU is around £800 normally and is supposedly better than a 975 Extreme.

dont believe intel when it comes to price, they usually overprice anything...

Price does not always equate performance. There isn't any difference as far as i know with that cpu and a 975 extreme edition, both look the same apart from the Xeon having 'Intel® Demand Based Switching' and ECC memory support, both of which i am sure you will see no benefit from ;) . Since your cpu is clocked to near the top end average, you'll need to see something like a 5Ghz+ overclock imo to see any noticeable difference and thats not likely at all.
