Love Film - is it worth the money?

I was signed up for a few months. The quality of movies on the PS3 stream were awful, sound was like listening to a mp3 at 64k rates. Washed out and squeally.

For Blu-Ray rentals mostly fine, several discs never turned up, and ringing up to try and cancel was a mission too.

Until they sort out the ps3 quality I won't go back.

The website says it will send DVDs in series order, but does this only work for multi-disk box-sets or for separate movies, i.e. if I put each LoTR movie on my list, will they be sent in the correct order? TIA

I think it only works with box sets

I've been with them for a few years and pay around £15 a month for 2 discs at time (Film & Games), if I watch films the day they get sent to me and send them back the following day I can get 4 a week so it works out great value for money.

I've got multiple lists set-up and use the priority filter / settings, i tend to always get the films / games I want, It's very rare that I have to wait any length of time before I get a new release (as long as you can rent it from Lovefilm).

The last time I checked the on-line player and PS3 app the selection available was quite poor and the quality was acceptable but not great, if you are just getting it to use these features then I really wouldn't bother. Most people complain about the on-line streaming but it was added 'free' to their existing price plans

Box sets only.

Ahh chars

It's annoying how I can rent a DVD or Blu-ray of a movie as part of the plan, but streaming it online costs extra. Then again if the quality is that bad probably better of getting the disk anyway...

I find film subscription services like lovefilm or sky movies to be only good for a month or two, there's never that much i want to watch and i suspect it's similar for a lot of people, you get some good stuff for a short time to begin with, then average stuff, then you end up with things you probably don't really want to watch, so don't waste money, go for the free offers or sub for a couple of months a year and leave it at that.

I agree with this. Same experience happened to me with both Lovefilm and Sky Movies. After a month or so, you have already seen everything you wanted to.

Not worth the money at all, I'm so lazy and so disspassionate about actually watching anything that I haven't returned my disks for a few months.

Might be worth it for the computer games instead

I am sorry but DUH! LOL

Of course its not worth it if you never watch anything. That is like buying a holiday and not going and then saying it is a waste of money.

I can get through as much as 4 films a week!

Yes, I'll concede that it's rather daft. I think it's a great idea in theory, but in practice I just so cba. I cba going on holiday either, incidentally. Good job I didn't.
