*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I found even on early access the Rift launch was packed, sadly the game didn't keep my interest but I'm looking forward to seeing what this has to offer.

ill pass its not ocuk if its on another website :P

No offence bud but you seem to not fully understand the concept of community guilds. Look at every other MMO guild from OcUK, very few, if any of them are called "OcUK", I believe they all have their own websites separate from this forum.

However they are OcUK guilds because they are started on these forums with forum members getting together, creating a guild and getting to know each other. they are all based around a core base of OcUK members which is often added to by new members from elsewhere, but OcUK members are always given that tiny bit more priority.

But if you fail to accept any guild as a "true OcUK guild" 'til they are all based off the name of the company and use these forums then you are going to be waiting a very...VERY long while to be able to play in your "true OcUK guild".

Electronic Arts said today its upcoming MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic is the fastest pre-ordered title in the company's history through the first five days.

The publisher did not provide an update on the game's release, however, only saying its targeted to launch in holiday 2011. Pre-orders for Star Wars: The Old Republic began last week.

EA's popular shooter, Battlefield 3, has seen pre-orders rise more than 10x Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the publisher said.

Thats a pity, I had hoped that all the OcUK MMOers would use the MMO community site eventually. Simply as a way to offer an easy portal for the OcUK MMO guilds and people looking for information on the OcUK guilds (be it what server they are on, what faction they are, who they should contact about joining a guild or what their website is) without it getting lost in a swathe of other gaming threads.

Not sure if it has been said before but there are some new decent quality vids up on the cake. One of the vids confirms to create a guild you have to go to capital cities, does anybody know what level you go to your factions capital? Is it level 10? (Preparing for the epic race on release to get to the capital and create the guild :p)

10(ish)

It costs a good few credits too.

Can't believe how big this thread is and the game doesn't even have a release date yet?

That said I'm pretty sure I'll pick it up when it comes out :D

The market is crying out for a fresh/good/both MMO and after the farse of galaxies people have high hopes for this game.

Also a lot is to do with the huge success of KOTOR I and II - KOTOR I was one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing! :)

The Star Wars franchise has certainly given me some of my favourite games in the past; X-Wing, Dark Forces 1&2, Rouge Squadron series and anyone remember Masters of Teras Kasi?? (ok maybe not the greatest game but certainly a blast) :p

Took a while to get started, but this thread has really picked up now.

The hype machine for this game has gone into overdrive at the moment.

Lets all hope it livies upto expectation :)

As CaptainRAVE says, it's hard to tell as the build we played were unoptimized.

You'll have a much better idea come the BETA weekends in September.

Yeah makes sense.

It looks good, but no where near Crysis levels.

Not really bothered about playing in the highest resolution with 16xAA, but that spec would surely play it at a decent frame rate. Especially as it meets the recommended requirements for BF3.
