Too many to mention almost:

Tracer 2
Spec Enduro ( 2010 onwards models though)
Nukeproof Mega
Transition Covert
Saracen Ariel 160 ( or 140)
Specialized Pitch
Devinci Dixon
Lapierre Spicy carbon
Orange 5

Depends on your budget and taste tbh.

Does anyone have any idea of what the Intense Carbine UK price will be?

I'm looking for a full suspension frame to replace the Stiffee and this could be an option....

Other options may be (and open to more):

Mojo
Five
Tracer 2
5Spot
.....

Somewhere around £2500 frame only.

If you are looking at the Orange 5 then you might as well look at the Heckler for a lot less money. But then again Single Pivot just doesn't compare to VPP or DW link.

Am I right in thinking that quite a lot of manufactuerers bring out their new yearly models around September time? Kind of hoping that it is the case as I have my eye of cube ltd team, so will be hopng for a 2011 model bargain as they clear stock.

In my MBR this month all the bikes advertised are reduced for end of 2011 clearance.

I still can't afford a Camber Expert though! :(

Actually, screw it... I was going to try and post a unbiased response .. but f'ck that :)

Morewood Izimu, handmade quality and a spec that drips quality ( inc best brakes money can buy), adjustable geo, light etc.

Retails at £2800, but drop me an email at [email protected] if you are interested at all, I'll sort you out a special OcUK discount ;)

The only thing I'd change on that spe, are the bars - they are too flat for my liking. Can get a black frame built up in stead of the white.

ebay !

the actual bikes are a rip off on there because of trendy london art students spending all of dads money on them but theres 100s of ebay shops that are selling new old stock stuff for peanuts

for the bike/frame id try local tips/scrapyards/local paper/gumtree
Yea thought it might be as such, found a few bikes for £50-100 for full bike not too far away, so planning on going to look at some of those, powder coat the frame, clean everything up, nice relaxed bars, white outers for all cables etc, just seen some nice rack ideas on various oldies I could make them but it would be so much effort for something simple!

I would be going for a YT-Industries Tues DH

It coped with my clumsy butt for a week in France. :D

Spec wise its identical to the Canyon apart from the head tube angle which is 63 for the YT and 66 for the Canyon. Could get a Cane Creek AngleSet and bring the Canyon down to 64.5 and still have change left as its a good 250 quid cheaper than the YT.

I've not done a proper timed run this year but early last year :

1 lap : 1 hour 20 mins : http://connect.garmin.com/activity/35235655
2 laps : 2 hours 41 mins : http://connect.garmin.com/activity/37543679

Both done on weekends with a fair amount of moving obstacles to negotiate ;)

heh just checking, same as you then 1 hour 21 on the. :) had to spend 20 mins in the toliet as had a Indian the night before - just rambing thought I'd check I did OK.

edit - On looking at yours, you were a few minutes faster! you going for it as I like to say 'race pace'

LOL :)

1hr 20 is a pretty decent time, Elite XC riders can get round in about 1hr 10mins and for everyone else under 2 hours is good going :D

France, 16 days and counting.
Sitting here psyching myself up, probably a bit too much.

Been eyeing up a gap that I've not had the balls to do yet, but I know 1. I can do it and 2. it would make my holiday if I did ... but I lacked the testicular fortitude that last couple of years :(
