Had to share this...missus asked me to look at beetles while browsing autotrader earlier and stumbled across this beauty ;)

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201114383963149

"An Audi 1.8 20V Turbo S3 Turbo engine has been fitted by APS, putting out 420 BHP"

"6 Speed Seat Cupra R gearbox, 19 inch Porsche TechArt colour coded wheels. Porsche Cayenne six pot calipers and ECS two piece front disc brakes Audi TT rear disc brakes"

"Interior has Recaro Polo edition leather trimmed bucket seats stitched with red leather in diamond pattern, dash board and door trims all finished in matching red leather, with a Golf R32 steering wheel."

420BHP though...would need it to make sure you're going fast enough that no one saw you driving it :D

I can't see anyone looking on autotrader for a 2004 vw beetle remotely considering this.

Like it or hate it you have to admire the effort and quality of the work thats gone into it.

Not particularly, unbolt one VAG part, bolt another one back in... a case of more money than sense rather than any sort of achievement.

Can't be many vag parts left on that engine though if the bhp figures are genuine

very expensive to get 400+ bhp out of a 1.8t

that and the custom bodywork, custom interior etc.... the list goes on. Don't get me wrong I don't like it but as far as car modding goes it is tastefully done and not just a load of kit bolted on from halfords.

I agree that the actual skills of the guy doing the fabrication are probably quite good, however you lose all respect for the guy when you realise that he spent all that time and effort creating a monstrosity such as the linked beetle.
