Download the Evenbalance test dll-file from their beta link http://web1.evenbalance.com/downloads/bc2/test/pbcl.dll and it needs to be in bad company 2/Pb folder

Also put the file in

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BC2\pb \

:)

If anyone is getting stuttering, low at performance times it maybe due to Punkbuster using 30-50% of your cpu at certain times of the match. It's supposed to go back down to normal but sometime's it gets stuck.

Posted it here so it doesn't get lost in the main forum thread

I don't know if it's of any assitance but I always found PB run security games to be a hinderance, they've always been very memory hungry and used to cause me a lot of problems when playing games. Ohhh and be careful if you happen to have software on your pc which it could consider as exploitable, as it will ban you for it....

Yeah it's always been an issue as long as I remember (Anyone remember RenGuard?)

Thing is you either run it and 99.9999% of the time never experience someone using mods/exploits.

Or find servers that don't and mysteriously have the same guy top of the boards with 100 kills - 100 headshots - 0 deaths.

I do get random spells of <1 frame per second, then silky smooth for 5 mins, then repeat.
I get days of no issues at all. I had assumed (wrongly it seems) that it was due to my SSD being pretty full.

Will give it a go. Thanks!

unless its official i wouldnt do it.

file could have been changed you could be adding anything.

also look at the guy on steam who posted it 4 posts i think .

if its not on pb dont touch it tbh

It's from the official site.

I said exactly the same thing but all i got from DG is

" it's probably your computer "

Yes DG does like to bait but the guy is incredibly stubborn, you only have to look at the battlefield 3 thread to see that :D. I too have my moments!

show me the actual post on the official site pls neil ;)

or the official link not of some guy on steam with 4 posts and bans for hacks ;) previously this is why i said this .

not seen any official posts on evenbalance or pbbans or the places you would go to get the said file but anyway cheers for the link

Here is an old post with an old beta file

http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefield-bc2-technical-support-faqs/176626-c-user-xp-directory.html

EvenBalance (Punk Buster) has asked me to put a dll file into two directories. I can find the first one, but not the second one. I suspect he thinks I've got Windows Vista, that one has a Users folder (my wife has a Vista laptop).

The following should explain further:

07/06/2011 15:23:21 - "Adam D"
Note #14: Ok, if you're willing to work with me, I am willing to let you test our new build that will hopefully stop this issue.

Now I need you to download the new pbcl.dll from this link http://web1.evenbalance.com/downloads/bc2/test/pbcl.dll

Please place the new pbcl.dll inside both the game installation PB folder and the PB homepath folder. (overwrite the existing pbcl.dll)

PB game installation folder is located inside the BC2 game folder, where you installed your game.

PB homepath folder is located "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BC2\pb \"

If have problems with this, please let me know so I might be able to help you.
If you do not wish to help with this, then thank you for your cooperation and we hope to have this issue sorted out shortly. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

So it is very likely that punkbuster has spoken to a number of gamers asking them to TEST the file before it's released.

There, done!

http://web1.evenbalance.com/downloads/bc2/test/pbcl.dll

There a link via evenbalance

There is no link on the website because it's a beta file, it worked for me and has worked for a number of other people. Stop being so ******* stubborn ffs

sorry if appeared stubborn niel its just te file link is not an official link or on the main site .

the guy posting it has been done for hacking so i suggested that it may not be safe to test it .

if its fine its fine ok .

also the link you posted was from the guy . also if its beta or untested you may get a false positive and get banned once you tarred its not so easy getting untarred ;) .

wasnt a dig at you neil just stating that it isnt official and these things can be risky

Sounds good as I have always had intermittent problems with BC2, think I'll wait for official release though, I'd rather not mess around with any anti-cheat system though just because of my irrational fear for VAC.
