I graduated not long ago but in Sports Science. Anyway I have found or had no luck or interest in any jobs/careers since then.

I am currently deliverign pizzas, its easy, its money though its quite boring.

Have you guys been in similar situation and what did you end up doing.

The thought off office work 9-5 seems quite dull but I dont know whats out there really

What do you want to do? Did you enjoy your course? Do you want to use it in your new career?

Also, helps if I actually answer the question. After my first degree I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do and worked a bunch of rubbish temp jobs/was unemployed for about a year. Then I ended up programming Computer Games. Which is what I'm currently doing.

I left uni with no idea about what I wanted to do. Tried working in an office selling parts but was very dull, then in retail for a few months before I was promoted to their call centre HQ, then to their marketing department!

I'm a teacher now, but my tip is to start in a company where you can progress. If they are impressed with your work ethic, you'll be promoted pretty quickly.

I did civil engineering, graduated last month and 2 weeks later started work as a professional structural engineer in the oil on a salary already above the national average where as others on my course are on way below that but it was a situation where they had to take something related to engineering or nothing at all. I got lucky. A lot of it depends on what degree you have, you might have to wait a while till the market picks up, just dont waste your time when you are still looking for a 'career' job, make sure youre always looking for things to improve your CV.

Well in all honesty there is not much work available related to sports scinece nor do I planon going into that field as a career. Course was fun, i like sports etc..but job wise? not much..Maybe post grad if you get paid to carry out research but not a specific job i see myself doing.

As for other careers I have no idea. I hate the idea of sitting in office all day. I also dislike traveling to far from home or long work ours or overtime. I dont need a lot off money. I am not a big spender. So I dont know what to do lol

I like video games, music and art but like sports its more fun than a realistic job opportunity

*looks at degree choice*

*thread delivers even less hope to me than I already have* Great success!! :(

But yeah I understand what you mean compboyo I'm in sort of the same position as you. I'm defering my 3rd year mainly because I've got no idea what I want to do. Internships at professional teams are few and far between, most clubs have some kind of affiliation with a nearby uni. Research wise it's hard to get some kind of position without a Masters or PhD. PhD wise you have to have a real passion in the thing you want to research in and be prepared to spend 3 years or what ever doing that. And then of course there is teaching.

yes Azza, some post grads pay 10-20k per year though but few places and with little desire I would not get on it.

Im not sure I want to take my sports study any further anyway tbh.

A job in a bank or insurance etc..is always a possibility but its not something Im keen on though good money/security

Could you find work in a gym or something along those lines? How about working in a gallery or museum?

To be honest, it sounds like your best bet would be to buy a copy of the local paper when it has it's jobs day and have a look through what is out there you might be qualified to do.

yeh I guess so Im not looking for serious comitment anyway. Im the kinda guy with a minimalistic life. I prefer less hours less pay and more free time. video games, guitar, football is my hobbies and not very expensive tbh.

I could prob do gym work but im 5'10 9.5 stone lol..no one ould take me seriously. But I bulked up form 8.5 stone lol..I was 11 stone at one point but I hate eating so I quit

Are you green fingered? Gardener or tree surgeon?

Are you good enough at Guitar to teach? There's reasonable money to be made teaching kids to play instruments, and it's pretty flexible work.

I could teach guitar but Im self taught.

I also read beginner teachers can really only charge like 10 pound per hour?

Where would I advertise gumtree, music shops, schools?

I could only teach beginners/intermediate I reckon.

found your problem, but at least you did it at a decent uni. did you manage to escape without debt or have you got a fair whack hanging over you. my bro in law did this at an average uni and he now works in a gym in a job he could have got without racking up a load of debt lol.

you can earn 20k per year in your local council doing admin / coordinator grade jobs and it seems you even need a degree to get these jobs now.

sounds like you really just want to enjoy life for a bit, but to do that you need money or do bar work whilst living by some awesome australian beach (mate of mine did this for a couple of years)
