New phone contract a 2 days before the old one ends?

Does anyone know if it is possible to order my new contract with Three mobile 2 days before my old one with O2 has ended without a penalty? I plan to keep my number and I have a PAC code which I will use but will it cause issues if I order my new contract online today so I don't have a period where I can't use my phone?

Best thing to do would be to call O2 to sort it out, it takes a little while to transfer a number, so I can't imagine O2 being against giving you your PAC code, I'd imagine it'd result in you having a temporary number on your new 3 phone for a while until the number's transferred though.

There's always a short period where you can't use your phone when you use a PAC code. I'm not sure why you think ordering it early is going to cause problems, or solve problems, your contract with O2 won't end until you use the PAC code.

I don't want to have to pay another month and want to at least have a temporary number on my new network to solve the problem of no phone if that makes sense.

They normally let you leave one month before it ends. Call O2 and get the PAC code and it should be sorted out. Takes a few days of having a temporary number from 3 though.

It only takes up to one working day, nowadays. It used to take a while but not any more. You'll be fine mate.

I'd change your sig as the text is too large:

A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 20k. Why would you have to pay another month? You'll only pay for the days you actually use.
