Would a Corsair TX 650w PSU be able to handle 6950 Xfire with a 1.35v SB CPU OC?

I know ideally a 750w would be more reliable, but after reading a few reviews its seems a decent 650w should be ok?

i asked this question recently, and got informed my 650 would be fine, as yours is a better make than mine id say it would be fine

PSU calculator says that you would need 517W. It is not entirely accurate as some components, like fans, obviously have a higher wattage than others. Therefore, I would say around 550W. 650W should be able to power it no problem :)

remember to allow for 80% efficiency of PSUs in general

Why?

A 650W PSU doesn't output 520W because it's 80% efficient.

A 650W PSU is designed to output 650W and at 80% efficiency it would draw 812.5W.

Disclaimer: The above is stated in simple terms and takes no account of the outputs of different rails or quality of PSU.

i had a ocz 700w supply with twin 6950 and a slightly overclokced 2600k.

used to power off once in a while in intestive games such as crysis

I had a similar question, I have a Corsair tx750 v2 and plan to get a couple of 6950's for crossfire, so great to know i have not made a mistake.

i would personally get a MINIMUM of a 750w psu for this. I am building a 750w system with a 6950 2gb, and the psu is good enough for upgrading to xfire in the future. 650w is slightly doubtful :L
