The Llano CPU has a strong built in graphics core, and with the above spec there is no speccing rubbish cases/keyboards/mouse and speakers etc.

I have a spec but I'm on the iPad right now, basically from what has been specced and the requirements, I've specced and athlon 2 250, nforce mobo, 4gb ram, cooler master case/pus combo, DVD drive, ocuk 22" monitor, gigabyte mouse/keyboard, 500gb hdd, and a 560ti!

I think for what it will be used for an athlon 2 will be great, and is very easy to overclock, I got mine to 3.8 easily and coupled with a 560ti will blitz most games out now.

Running a GTX560ti on the Coolermaster elite 500W PSU is a big NO NO.

how would you even manage the 560ti in budget :o
but yeah that's a bit too good, i think the 5770 is pretty adequate! unless there's a better priced alternative?

as it stands i may not go with the Xigmatek case and go for some other!
Peripheral-wise still looking at options, but keep throwing up your specs, it all helps!

Im sorry but some of these specs in here are awful.

A GT 430 is slow as hell.

you need a sub woofer and decent peripherals that work and respond.

A Xigamatek Asgard is nasty, thin and will rattle and flex.

A i3 2300 is plenty fast enough for your use and will allow a better GPU and other parts.

price vs performance i'm better off getting the i5 though? or would you not say so?

looks like a nice setup, both the Llano and the X3, but how do they perform compared to the i5?

oh and to add more confusion, what about the AMD Phenom II X4 955 (or a AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 560 unlocked to a Tri core), i imagine i could get a similar build with one of those? again, how do they perform to the i5? i'm trying to find benchmarks of all 3 but failing!

Both are slower CPU's than even a i3 2100, but the Llano does have a half decent graphics core so you dont immediately need a discrete card.

As for the PhenomX4 955BE, it again is slower than a i3 2100,

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/289?vs=88

The problem is that the AMD Athlon and Phenom architecture is old and slow now, Intels Sandybridge is just so much more efficient per clock cycle.

And unless you get a AM3+ motherboard you are buying a dead end socket.

This being the cheapest AM3+ board at OCUK - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-466-AS&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=1481

oh right ok thanks, so to save money i'd be better getting a i3, perhaps invest the saved money in something more than a 5770?

perhaps the "final" build:

what do you think?

Going back to Llano, something that can be done is to add a ATI 6570 card at £55 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=gx-263-sp&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1984

crossfire it with the built in graphics core of the cpu and get a effective 50% boost in frame rates,

which are results marked "dual gfx" from this page onwards - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/amd-a8-3800_16.html#sect0

sounds like a good idea, but i'd rather keep it a bit simpler than having to crossfire it with a cheap graphics card, i think perhaps in this instance an i3 would be the hastle-free & wise option?

I think this PSU is better suited,

And you sure you dont want a elite430?

which has an all black interior, psu mounted at the bottom.

And the Seagate drive is faster and £1 cheaper.

that case is much nicer, but the PSU kind of lets it down!
and the case on it's own is out of stock (perhaps it will be in before i order ill keep an eye out!)
also in terms of the hard-drive, are Seagate really any better these days? After having numerous problems in their early days with Maxtor also, i'm scarred for life!

The top three fastest drives are the WD Black, seagate 7200.12 and the samsung F3, get either of them and whichever is the cheapest.

What do you think of that corsair psu? Do the nice braided cabling and outstanding performance do anything for you?

hell yeah, having corsair psu (& 800D) myself i think Corsair are top of their game!
Would it be worth getting though, 450W seems pretty low? Doesn't seem so future-proof as the BeQuiet (although i've never had BeQuiet before)

Its a highend lower watt psu though, so will keep putting out its rated power and more all day long.

To me it seems ideal for a 5770+ sandy bridge setup.

And a small fact about the bequiet, it has plain un braided cabling.

Ahh ok yeah true, my 750 can put out 850 or 950 i believe (that's what reviews said).
I'll get the corsair, also changed up to the F3's due to £1 increase, to match my drives also!
