Howdy all,

Being sent to Manchester on business and therefore have 4 evenings to kill....by myself

I'm staying at

Manchester City Centre (Portland Street)

I'm looking for bars and places to eat that I won't look like a prat sat by myself.

The missus will be joining me for one night, so I also need a nice Italian for that night.

Finally what else is there to do? Cinemas etc?

Cheers in advance

Gauchos for steak.

Do you have a car?
Tatton Park
Dunham Park
Chill Factore - indoor snow slope - skiing, boarding and other snow realted stuff
Trafford Centre - shopping, eating, movies, 10 pin bowling, video arcade, mini fun fair.

Some good chinese buffets on (and just off) portland street. All you can eat for a pretty good price and you won't really look silly eating on your own as loads of people do it in them.

go to the "Moon under Water" on Deansgate, I would like a second opinion because I am of thethought that this is quite possibly the world's worst pub :p

i would agree, full of chavs, i once went there and sat outside, it was a bit chilly but not freezing, had my hat on and the bouncer made me take it off !

I'll see your Moon Under Water on Deansgate and raise you... the Moon Under Water in WIGAN.

I'm not absolutely against either of these pubs. One pub I would like to put forward for "worlds worst" though is The Piccadily/wetherspoons in Piccadilly gardens, jeebus!!

Oh christy yes! I've been in there before.....once....and left very quickly. I don't know at what time during the day it's worse; in the evening when it is full of 90% scum on from 10am onwards when it is full of the scum of scum!

P.s. OP, go to The Piccadily/wetherspoons in Piccadilly gardens, it's a great little place.

Dont you know that Manchester is awful, there is own 2 restaurants and it always rains?

:p

Seriously though, places like PrintWorks/Deansgate are good for food etc

If you like Indian food, then East is East, which is just across the Deansgate & Market street junction is very nice. There's also another nearer to Portland street, but I'm unsure as to where.
