Hi,

Which case do you guys recommend? Need to buy one this weekend for my new SB setup and have narrowed it down to these two (was going for full towers but I think they're a bit OTT for my needs).

The 690 II has a lot more room for fans, but the K-62 comes with all 4 fans... how good is the cooling on the K-62 vs the 690 II? hm

Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced

Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62

Just incase it helps, here are the parts going into whatever case I end up getting:

i5-2500k
Thermalright Silver Arrow
MSI P67A-GD53
8GB XMS3 DDR3
GTX 470 SOC
Corsair 750w TX
1 SSD
3 HDD

get the 690 ii basic, which is cheaper and only has a few features missing against the advanced, with the money you save you could buy some nice new fans for it :p

Had a k62, was the very first case i bought. Loved it, then hated it as i thought it was loud. Went to a antec fusion, hated it. slight regret for selling k62, then i went to silverstone ft03, then thought i was moving up in the world but the case was badly made and you could hear the case from downstairs.(vibrated to much and you could here the vibrations through the floor ) Fans where terrible on about 50% you couldn't even listen to music with headphones on.! Sold it, now im on a 600T. Iv now realized how wonderful the lancool k62 was. Took a while. Not as good as the 600T, but for the price....k62 all the way!

lol. Never knew how good you had it :p I can relate.

I have the 690-II Advanced. Very nice case. Has seen a few rebuilds and parts swaps and nothing has broken off it yet. Only thing I would have liked is some more cable room behind the mobo.

On my Corsair 750hx 12v power plug had problems routing it round the back on K62 through top slot its nightmare was even worse trying to get it out to swap PSU.

Apart from this annoyance i think case is great got Red one looks nice. :)

Cheers guys, just ordered a K-62 along with this fan splitter for the Silver Arrow fans, prob buy a decent fan controller soon...

Had the same thing with my Antec 300. I'll be buying an extension to sort that this time, however. Hoping the 24-pin can do without an extension! :p

Thanks again! :)

Hi,

I am also debating these same choices at the moment.

Does anyone have anymore experience on what the cable management is like in both of these cases? From the comments above, both seem to have their diffficulties.

Cheers,

Mike

Unsurprisingly that K63 looks like the K62 bigger brother, which could be appealing, especially after I have watched that youtube video you linked above (some proxy magic at work). I assume it will have suitable hold / cage for an SSD?

As for the Storm Enforcer, very similar to the K62 really...too many choices :)

As long as I can manage cables effectively, provide sufficient airflow and not going to fall apart, all of the options are good really :)
