Ah that was your white 'Teg then? I did mention it to my friend that I thought it might be someone off here. :)

Quickest lap in the last session in the wet was 1:16 something I think.

Aye that was my mine :) Very dirty though didn't have the chance to clean her before hand!

1:16 yeah that was around the 2nd quickest to me in the wet in our session, I was passing most people on the back straight, even though it was soaking you could still keep it flat, although slightly sideways :p Most people were spinning out each lap ha, always been pretty good driving in the wet. What scores did you get in on the track session? I had 87%, 2 of my mates had 85% and one of the boys and my old man had 78%, not sure how relevant these are though really? The last guy let me give it some in the corsa though, coming down the chicane at the end I was on the limit braking and shifting down, he said well done even though you almost had me through the windscreen ha. Deffo going to get some track time booked asap!

My mate also set the fastest autotest of the day at 26.12 - he had the guy on the left who let him properly give it some, start off the handbrake, I was on the right and the guy was a bit more nervous, wouldn't leave me launch it properly off the line, telling me to slow down coming back through the cones haha, I done a 28.1, bit gutted didn't have the chance to go again!

Your 'Teg didn't look too bad to me, although I didn't really stop to take a good look.

I think I did a 29.5 something on the autotest in the wet, only had one go because the queue was massive!

My lowest score on track was 85% and my best was 93% although I felt my best lap was in the Corsa (only did one lap in it @ 90%) it was just so much more nimble and able to go where you wanted but I was enjoying going around in the Insignia to be honest and wasn't too fussed about waiting for the Corsa! A lot of my comments stated that I was really smooth which I was very happy with! Managed to heel and toe too which no doubt helped. Felt much more confident than I did when I went for the first time 2 years ago, I think my highest then was around 90%.

I'm not actually that great at karting, not as good as my mate who I was there with, the last time we went karting indoors he was a good second quicker than anyone else and he's never really done it more than the occasional karting day, probably less than 5 times, the same as me I think.

My track scores were 80,85,90,89,91 & 95, that was with some extended runs and one guy didnt make a comment because I had already been out with him previously.

I think there is some relevance to the scores because I was definately driving better than last year and the scores reflected this as they were all around 90% after a couple of warm ups to get used to everything again. My best comment was "Excellent drive, nice and smooth, fast as well"

So you had a single track session where you got about 4-6 runs? And a session of karting?

Considering last year we had 2 track sessions with at least 6 runs in each (if you stuck with the Insignia, some people got 8 runs), then I think last year was better value for money.

6 runs, I think 3 of those were for 4 laps. The number of Corsas on track seemed to drop though, not sure whether they broke or ran out of fuel.

1hr of Karting split between a group of 3, plenty of time because it's a nackering course for those who are new to karting.

The following you could do as many times as you wanted:

An off-road 4x4 drive in the Antera (I think).

Drift/skid passenger.

Autotest in the Corsa.

Arcade setup racing.

I certainly had no complaints (although more track time would have been nice) and enjoyed the day, would have been better if the karting was in the dry though.

Exactly Skeeter. And we paid seperately for a karting session on an empty track at the kart track down the road, just a few of us, which was epic.

The Thruxton track was great, never felt too busy. I don't really see the problem, everyone who went had a great day. Shame time travel hasn't been invented, eh? :p

The problem is that some of us are dissapointed as we'd have loved to go again were it not significantly worse value this time around :(

Well you still missed out on a good day, I think you'll struggle to find ~20 laps of track time with an instructor, ~20 mins of outdoor karting on decent karts, an off-road course, drift/skid passenger rides, autotest drives plus 2 meals for £100 odd, anywhere this year. If you do, let me know as I will be first in the queue! :)

I don't remember how long the sessions were last year but the level of queuing meant that I didn't get much if any more track time than this year. I didn't feel short changed at all.

Quite... I think some people remember last years session with rose-tinted specs :p There is absolutely no way that people got 16 runs last year, even if you did stick to the Insignias! I got 6 runs last week, of which two were double length as the instructor (same one) kept you out for twice as long.

I enjoyed myself far more this year than last, and £95 for a day of motoring fun is good VFM if you ask me.

Last year when they announced the events they made a big thing about stating that they "had listened to customer responses from previous years and increased the amount of track time available". But then after one year, have gone back to the old format :(

I also know for a fact Fox had either 6 or 7 laps in one Insignia run towards the end. Did they have the Astra VXR telemetry cars this year?

Increasing the amount of track time didnt actually increase the amount of driving people actually got. Thats the point people who were actually there this year are trying to make.

There were twice as many people trying to drive the same number of cars in last years sessions.

The telemetry cars were Corsas but there were 4 people waiting when I wanted to go and it was nearing the end of the session so I decided not to wait.

It seems to me the only people finding it bad value for money are those that didn't actually go, lol. :o

But thats the point. I didnt go because I found it worse value for money than last year. I didnt not notice then bitch about it, I chose not to go on the grounds it wasnt as good as last year. Its a shame, as I really enjoyed last year.

Maybe it was worse than last year (although I guess that depends on individual experiences) but it certainly wasn't bad value for money, everyone enjoyed it (apart from you and Fox, who didn't actually go). You chose not to go and missed out on a good day, as already said, you'll struggle to get better value for money and if you do find a better deal, please let me know.
