Ok, with the hopefully soon to be released bulldozer and BF3 coming up soon, it is upgrade time.
Initially I was thinking the gigabyte UD7, but I have seen some bad reviews and after years of gigabyte mobo's I fancy changing to Asus as their 990FX series look so damn sexy with a feature set to match..

Having never bought an Asus mobo before, what is the general feeling here for those considering a bulldozer mobo - sabertooth or crosshair as their doesn't seem to be much difference between the two if you take the add on pcie-x card away from the crosshair V?

So would you go Sabertooth or Crosshair V and why??

I think the general consensus is that if you're buying now get Sandy Bridge.

If you're thinking of Bulldozer then you should wait and see if it's any good.

Everybody has their own reasons which board they prefer,I prefer Sabertooth because it has 5 year warranty( and uses very high quality components) nice blue UEFI bios rather then red on Crossfire V,plus it has everything I need without being bloated with stuff I won't use plus very good reviews like this one http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1639/1/ .

Basically main difference between Sabertooth and Crossfire V is Crossfire has Intel Lan ,in real world you won't notice difference between the two ie Realtek on Saber , plus it has software based X-FI sound(still uses Realtek codec however).

You should not have long to wait for BD benchmarks and AM3+ boards will still be here ,so you would be advise to wait and see how well BD does.

No, you are right, Im gonna wait for the benchies, but as long as they are OK, I plan on buying the day they are out..
It looks like the Crosshair supports faster oc'd RAM as well as a different SATA configuration, but I do like the durability of the sabertooth
