Halflife 2 - Dr.Eli Vance

I've seen lookalike pics on the net where the first comparison people make to Halflife 2's Dr.Eli Vance is Morgan Freeman. But actually, I caught some of Amityville 2 on the TV tonight, and noticed the actor Moses Gunn. It occured to me that they absolutely must have used his face as the basis of Dr.Eli Vance. Don't you agree?

I'd imagine so, Valve tend to use specific people as the base for their character designs.

IIRC the people who provided the basis for the characters were all employees? There was a comparison chart doing the rounds back along.

Wasn't that for the Left for Dead ones? I don't think they used employees for Left for Dead, well if they're being paid for modelling for them, I'm sure they are actually employees

Hmm, maybe so. Though the uncanny resemblance to moses gunn, right down to the shape of the beard, makes me wonder.

I haven't read it in years but I think they said that Eli's model was based on a homeless person who they found outside their building.

Robert Guillaume who voiced Dr.Eli Vance, also voiced Rafiki in The Lion King.

I thought that was pretty interesting
