Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Well I wanted to avoid spoilers until an archive came up, but it's taking too long (if it's coming at all), so I just checked the top 8.

Pat on the back for me, for my 100% accurate yet vague, top 8 prediction :D

I'm glad Poongko and Tokido made top 8, as they use characters I want to watch.
Viper is great to watch too, but 3 is too many :p
Would've liked Vangief or any other Gief mainer to make top 8.
 
Really is a shame the likes of RF, Momochi and especially Mago didn't make it (I guess Fuudo has taken the spotlight now!), and it really is funny that it came to the point where the brackets forced a lot of the big name Japanese players to knock each other out. Still, anywhere in Top 16 or 32 is better than nothing. And at least these guys still have SBO to look forward to.

Yeah it's funny that.

Inflitration made No.3 and Tokido never made it at last year's EVO, and now this year, it's been reversed. But then Tokido has improved a crap load since then.


I cannot wait for Daigo vs Poongko in the Winner's finals games.

He really seems like the only guy who could beat Daigo at the min, although Alex Valle came very very close. Pooongko didn't look great in casuals just before the tournament started but that may be down to the fact that the dummy never sleeps and he was tired or he could've been saving some stuff. In any event, he's looking amazing now so things are gonna get very interesting today.
 
Just tuned in to the stream and Poongko is playing but he seems to be struggling against the twins. I think Daigo will win quite easily, the twins are just too overpowered.

As much as I would have love to see C.Viper or Seth take it, being SFIV's original characters to take the major tournament, big part me of wanted the original SFII Hong Kong fighter to take it. Gotta represent, and at least it's better than a Yun! ;)

Those finals were epic, the MK9 finals were amazing too. For me the highlight of the tournament was easily as OMH said Poongko completely blowing Daigo up and going crazy afterwards.
