Gamer Chris Staniforth dies from DVT.

His father David believes the condition may have been triggered by long gaming sessions.

And what medical background does he come from?

I have also had a clot, granted not in my legs but in my right arm at age 21. I live an active lifestyle. Sometimes clots just happen.

The thing is, I feel sorry that he went so young (no one should go that young), but as a gamer I would hate to be taken advantage of like that and basically used by the media.

The Sun do have a tendency of blowing things up out of proportion, take the story of Anna-Lee Kehoe, whom they reported last week, died of a heart attack while playing on her xbox. Yes, she had been playing on her xbox, but read what her father stated..

"I was speaking to Anna-Lee ten minutes before and she was fine. She was playing on the Xbox then went to the toilet. When she came back she said she couldn't breathe and collapsed. We phoned an ambulance and her mum tried to do CPR on her but she never woke up again. They are not sure what caused it."

You could just as easily say that she died as a result of using the toilet... Elvis did..

Im sorry but it has nothing to do with gaming, probably his diet of junk food and the fact he choose to be a sloth.
Gaming has nothing to do with it, the coroner even states that there was no difference between that and if he had been sat on a plane for 12hrs.
If his parents had raised him differently then maybe he wouldn't have made the choice to sit there for 12hrs gaming.
Did he have job?
If he had a more structured lifestyle who knows maybe things would have been different.
How do people in wheelchairs go about dvt and obesity?

It doesn't matter what the papers say, gaming brings in so much money that it's here to stay, like it or not.
