Girly friend needs a £3.5k car

Depends which Corsa. The C's were terrible. Ford KAs are nothing special but again incredibly cheap to run and share a lot of parts with other models, but for 4k you can get a lot better.

Grande Punto is a good punt.

I personally wouldn't bother recommending a car.

Just tell her to go look at the Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta & Fiat Panda.

Tell her to choose her favourite as all are fundamentally good cars. Women won't buy a car based on logic. She'll buy the one with the cute looking storage compartment or something. So just let her choose, then if she does pick a rotter you're not to blame.

I was in a 1.2 Corsa 2 weeks ago, same friend who bought a colt. She got thhe Corsa as a courtesy car as her old 1.3 KA was written off when got rear ended. She hated that Corsa, she says she has the foot to the floor and it won't move, I thaw no pull. The engine is too small for a car that size.

Umm...... was it broken?

Corsa 1.2i 16V Club 3d (01) 12.0 s 106 mph 73 bhp
Ka 1.3i (70ps) 3d 14.1 s 104 mph 69 bhp

I appreciate the corsa is 60KG heavier but it does have slightly more power and torque, is faster to 60, and has a higher top speed.

It was a 10 plate car. Pulling off from stop, into second gear and foot to the floor and you would expect you get that lunge forward. It didn't happen. You just accelerate like "smoothly", with no urgency.

and it was a 5Dr one, no idea how much heavier that is.

So you would let your other half go out and pick whatever she wanted and not give her any advice, then when she comes home with a POS with a good storage compartment you would lay back and say "sorry love, not my problem"?

That will be due to driver error, I've highlighted the areas of your post which give it away

I can believe it would feel quicker, its smaller and probably not as well built as a brand new corsa. In actuality its probably slower though.
