Folks,

I don;t knwo where to post this, since this is something to do with both display and LCD monitor as well as motherboard.

I am planning an upgrade of motherboard. Z68 chipset is my primary consideration.

But then one thing I am not very sure about which brand, those amongst the top are Asus, MSI and Gigabyte, I also thingk Asrock comes last.

I saw a Youtube clip. The folk project his game on a very large LCD monitor, said that was through HDMI port of the GTX 560 Ti card.

Now I did the same to my home TV. But the image quality is like garbage. Is that something to do with the chipset? I am still using my P5Q Deluxe.

Even you got a good video board you still need a chipset like Z68 to unleash the full power of the video card, is that it?

Asrock comes last? you got that wrong.

I would put it more like

Asrock
MSI
ASUS

And somewhere down here,
Gigabyte.

for wot reason you put asrock 1st?over asus or msi and giga
the only thing i can think off is the price diff on the asrock but build quality its got to be asus, giga, msi and then asrock.
Asrock and Asus motherboards are both made by Asustek
and you would find that asrock use cheaper components on their broads
but all this is down to personal choice.

Asrock are owned by Asus, you get more features with the Asrock Z68 extreme4 board than you do with similar priced Asus and MSi boards.

Tomshardware put it ahead of the Asus and gigabyte,

All the other reviews for it suggest its awesome,

Motherboard BIOS

Let's start by investigating motherboard's BIOS.

Is BIOS an important component of a motherboard's overclock ability?

I remember AOpen has very good BIOS in terms of the flexibility of changing a greater number of parameters. However, thy don't have a shutdown mechanism which helps to prevent damage when things are out of hands.

Asrock, ASUS and MSI use UEFI click bios'es

I think Gigabyte are still using the old style, unless they have released updates?
