changing the case fans will be as effective at cooling your processor as an asthmatic blowing through a straw. you really need to change the CPU cooler itself if you want to see any difference.

if you tell us your budget i'll recommend you something

spec

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) -
G.Skill Ripjaw 12gb
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AMD 770 (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

I'd like to replace the fans aswell and keep noise down, my budget 50ish, was thinking of one of those liquid cooling sealed kits but i'd rather not spend a lot, just spent 160 quid on a new screen

I think its your CPU cooler that needs changing IMO, i have a antec 300 with a i5 clocked to 4Ghz, my temps are idle mid low 30s

I have no real additional fans, bar a huge side 120mm Silenx fan which blows air onto the GPU.

Theres two different fans on the one page, Bequiet at the top and Cool age at the bottom.

your looking at the Cool age?

More confusion for you,

The Gentle typhoons are great items.

If i had them plugged into molex would they run full speed or would i need a controller to change this?

Full speed.

Zalman do a little fan mate controller thingy for a few quid that can adjust the speed of one fan each.

Another thing to beware of is spending to much, sometimes its cheaper to sell the case you have and just buy one with superior cooling and fans as standard.

if youve got £50 to spend i'd just get a thermalright silver arrow and sod the case fans (unless the case fans are too loud)

can someone confirm that the silver arrow will actually fit, becuase its going to be tight
