Ok. I am giving my sister in-law my old iPhone 3gs and would like to know how or what I need to do to get it back to being a blank phone with nothing tied to it.

So far I have took everything off my phone (pics, videos etc) reset the phone to permanently delete all settings etc. Fully charged it and now connected to my PC. Itunes is loaded and it is saying 'Set up as new phone'. Right I get that bit as its all rest and everything but If I set it all up on my PC with her sim card in would she still be allowed to connect to her laptop/PC at her home as well to update/transfer etc. Also would she require her own iTunes account setup?

Cheers.

Just restore to factory settings in iTunes. Sounds like you've down that. If you set it up on your PC then yes she would have to update/transfer using your pc. Probably best if you borrow her laptop and set it up on that. :)

In any iTunes, factory restore the phone.

Then create a new apple ID for her.

Then give her the phone and the ID/password and she is good to go on any PC/Mac

Oh really? Is that new?

I thought the iphone or any ipod was locked to one pc and if you plugged it into another pc you would have to wipe it and start again. :o
