iphone 3gs: sound only through headphones*

Hello,

Spilt some water on my iphone 3gs this morning. anyway.... the ipod function, games, youtube etc WONT work through the normal speakers, but only through headphones, however, the ringer *DOES work though, but not Text message sound or email sounds (bit of a mixed bag really) Also when i increase the volume it says "headphones" on it, probably indicating that ive still got my headphone jack in

Any help here.???

Cotton bud and clean out the headphone jack, if not its a replacment headphone jack -quite an easy to replace item on the 3gs.

i did almost the same as you but drop mine in a cup of coffee
wot i did is gave a good shake,then dry off most i could on the out side and then use the wife hair dryer on low warm setting and after a while got it all working again.might be just my luck but it worked.
you got nothing to lose

ahh, yes, "shake to undo"

Its ok now, left it outside for while to dry out, hot n' humid out there...

I'm Checking it out today as i'm selling it. don't do Ebay though, so....wers to go?......

Best thing to do is to switch it off and put it somewhere warm until it dries fully. Likely it'll come back to life then.
