Doctors are warning of the growing impact of alcohol on young people's health. Official figures show a quarter of the adult population drinks too much and alcoholic liver disease in the under 30s is rising significantly.

Panorama spent a busy Friday night in A&E at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as staff battle with a seemingly never-ending stream of drunk patients.

I like a drink, who doesn't but never been in hospital from a night out drinking, I only started drinking around 17/18 and it was never on the street corner or a park, cant wait to watch this and see how bad the problem has become. Even when I go out, I know when I have had enough and can pretty much remember everything and never cause trouble.

Has anyone on here been admitted to hospital in a comatose state or been in a fight.

I've been drunk enough on two occasions for friends and friends' parents to call the hospital. I'm not proud of this fact at all.

No never.

Only twice woken up with no memory at all. One was a work night out too! :/ It was horrible.

My GF says she cant remember a night out for most of her 1st year at uni!!!

The only time I have been to hospital whilst drinking is because I fell off a gate and thought I broke my foot

How ever much i drink, i always seem to remember the night

Never been to hospital though, but i have nearly choked on my own sick though. XD

Life experiences to be honest, but some just don't know when to stop.

Many years ago when I was about 21 I managed to fall and split my head open after drinking too much Stella. Had a word with myself and haven't drunk Stella since or got so drunk I couldn't stand :D

Some just don't know when to stop and I have a few friends back home who week in and week out will drink far to much and not remember anything.

That being said I do like to drink but normally don't go too far when out and about and have never been taken to hospital or gotten into a fight before.

Hospitalized only once, mostly due to the concussion but the decision to attempt my leap of faith was definitely alchohol fuelled.

I don't really bother drinking anymore, at least not to drunkeness, usually just get something that I'll enjoy and take my time with it.

Getting old I guess.

Back when I used to drink to get drunk, there was a few times where I certainly needed help standing, let alone getting home, but oddly I do remember my experiences. I wasnt abusive to people or anything, I remember more apologising profusely to the people helping me for having let myself get this drunk.

Never been to hospital because of my drinking (and I've been very very drunk on multiple occasions). Been lifted by the police a few times before though.

One of my friends was hammered one night and telling us that he needed to go to the hospital and demanded an ambulance was called. I didn't call one, instead took him home and let him sleep it off. He thanked me for not wasting everyone's time with a 999 call. Far to many people go to hospital when they are drunk, all that happens there is they waste hospital staffs time and get put in a bed to sleep it off. They can do that at home easily enough.

I have called an ambulance for someone else before though, and maintain that that was the correct course of action.

Sadly my best friend and I attempted something called 'the gauntlet' which consisted of drinking around 25 units everyday, 52 days running. I ended up hospitalised with glandular fever and and awful chest infection. Though I was informed that the way I drank was probably less damaging than bingeing every other Friday night.

Needless to say I don't drink that much anymore.

Even I wouldn't do that. What possessed you to try and do that?

Ended up in hospital once, and that wasn't the fault of booze really. A (large) friend fell into me knocking me back until i hit the deck, then he landed on my leg and snapped it :D
