5850 temp rise

My 5850 PCS+ when I kept it at stock settings used to idle around 34-37 with 50% fan speed. Over the last week I've noticed it always idling around 47-51 with no change to clock/fan settings. I've dusted the case, cleaned filters, checked the fans on the card + case. I've upped the fan speed to 65% and it's still only dropped down to 41-42.

Edit: Odd, having upped the fan speed considerably and dropping it right back down to 50% it's now showing idles of 34-38 again without budging - looking at the fan on the card it's spinning much faster at 50% than it was before ??

Solution was to reapply the TIM

i may be wrong, but how about the heat wave we are having, higher ambient temps (room temp) = hotter components.

Maybe the TIM just reached a threshold of degradation.

^This would definitely have some impact.

Today has reached like 29C at where I live, and both my CPU and GPU temp is like around 5C higher than usual.
