How much debt do you have?

About £900 of an overdraft to pay back and £5k to my Dad. Student loan too but I'll start paying that back come September.

What made you sort yourself out if you don't mind my asking?

To go from such an extreme to blow the loan you took out to clear your debt, to be paying it all off is quite a jump. Most people just spiral out of control.

My mum and dad finding me on the floor having tried to take my life. Yes emo kid is emo kid.

They sat me down and asked wtf was going on. I explained it and they didn't have a clue.

For about 3 years I worked 5am -10.30pm nearly killed me.

I lost a lot of progress when I had an accident and my ppi didn't pay out. Was out of work for 7 months. And £850 a month in loans etc killed my progress.

jesus! nothing is worth doing that, lucky your parents found you :)
its one thing paying off monthly installments when in work, but when off work it can be a nightmare,

i owe nothing, so therefore i probably have a bad credit rating ;)

I hope you feel a bit more chilled out about it now. It's only money dude, there is always a solution. Sounds like you have made great progress anyway, it shouldn't be too long till your debt free or easily managing it.

Have you done all that PPI claim stuff?

9k on cards and overdraft, just got a letter increasing my limit by 4k on 1 card , currently spending say 120 and earning 100, really need to cut back but im used to being able to buy what ever i want ! baby new house and bills doesn't compute

I thought I was bad with somewhere around 7k! :(

4k of that though is a car and is sitting on 0%, the rest is on a card with a lower interest rate than the bank would give me for a loan though!

Aiming to be clear ASAP, probably summer 2012 :)

It was the day after I wrote off my escort Rs turbo.

I hit a rounderbout curb and twisted the chassis.

The claim never paid out as they picked up on two things I think I has t declared. Yet I has declares over 50 mods!!

I was young and thought it was the way out :)

I contacted a claim co about the ppi. And they just threw it out. Saying I didn't qualify. They didn't give a reason. But I think I took it out after/before a cut off point.

Was up to around £8k at one point - been slowly paying it off over the last few years, have a little over £1100 left inc. interest. It's been hard work tbh but I'm glad I've done it.
One thing I found which may well apply to you is that as I had several credit accounts of differing values, as they were satisfied one by one the cumulative monthly payments reduced.

Two years isn't a massive amount of time, although £915/month must be a killer (assuming it's not what I mentioned above). I sympathise with you man, I know you should have kept control of you finances but i know how easy it is to go a bit wild sometimes. Two years isn't too bad, and assuming you can afford the monthly payments, just think that in 24 months that'll be disposable income.... it's like an 11k take home salary increase :)
