spliting this fourn to nvidia / amd / genral?

I don't think splitting would help sales. People come here to ask for advice and make decisions most of the time. Dividing this section would eventually lead to many double-posts, e.g. the same post of "560 Ti vs 6950" appearing in both the AMD section and the nVidia section, wasting resource.

Could consider adding sub-forums of AMD/nVidia inside the graphics card section, for driver discussions/oc etc.

I agree with the general reply so far. Both companies products do the same job competitively so comparison is good.
Just need separate forums to tidy up driver discussions.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Fanboy wars are fun to watch!!

On a serious note, I don't see any point in splitting, probably just gonna make things worse. Besides, the fanboyism here isnt that bad. It's usually "amd/nvidia make crap drivers", not worth losing sleep over tbh

Maybe they should spit CPU's into AMD/Intel
PSU's into Tagen, Zalman, OCZ etc
Maybe split the HDD's into their brands too?

If you bothered to look at numbers of threads started, you would see that this section, second to General Hardware only, has the highest number of threads by a country mile. So actually it does make sense for this section specifically

How about:

GPU General - Pretty much everything can be posted in here relating to graphics cards. Comparison threads, "what GPU should I get", "what's equivalent to?" etc. Even ATI/Nvidia specific threads if it's, say, big news like a new release.

Discuss ATI - Specific ATI hardware/software discussion. Talking more about the specificity of ATI: driver issues, queries relating to models, Crossfire etc.

Discuss Nvidia - Specific Nvidia hardware/software discussion. As above.

Pointless, just extra moderation hassle, won't stop any of the crap certain individuals seem to feel is necessary.

Nope, seen this on a few other forums i use, bit of a mess tbh. I prefer to have it all in one place.
