Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

I'm with everyone else here, report him. Logitech's warranty replacement service is fantastic, they don't deserve to be ripped off like that just for doing something good for the customer.

Glad you're reporting him, it's people like this that ruin legitimate enquiries.

In fact, while everyone is here, has anyone ever had Logitech ask them to send their faulty item to Logitech via UPS before they send out a replacement?

I have to with my speakers, seemed odd..

wow thats sneeky, i knew logitech had good CS but wasnt aware they would just ship you any old item without a seriel or anything!
Stupid of them really..
Yes grass the guy up.

You DO need a serial number or PID. They determine the manufacturing date from this if you don't give proof of purchase (or match and verify).

PID?

the base of my mouse (the sticker thing) has all scratched off over the years and im sure others have said the same but logi has still taken them as long as you smash the **** out of it with a mallet and send them a pic.

Well, personally, I'd be pretty angry there was a claim in my name I hadn't made. I'd be tempted to report it for that reason alone. I know that might sound petty, but I don't like the idea of someone claiming to be 'me'.

Not petty at all, he is after all using YOUR details in a manner that is frankly highly illegal. In fact I'm sure the OP can sue him.

Sod just Logitech, you wouldn't be looked at daft if you took it to the police or ActionFraud.

Wouldn't this also be classed as identity theft as well?

I drove over my old mouse with pics and a sadface note :p

Best RMA Evar!

Wow what an ****** the OP is, just because it says warranty replacement doesnt mean hes scamming Logitech, maybe he is a reseller of warranty replacement items, dont just go jumping to conclusions.

And how can you, legally, sell warranty replacement items which involves the item being delivered directly from Logitech warranty replacement to the buyer?

It's obviously not right, he's not jumping to conclusions.

Do you work for Logitech?

Maybe he has authorisation to sell them, maybe they are refurbs that he cant legally sell as new, maybe he sells them and submits the order to Logitech. If hes doing it 15-20 times a week dont you think Logitech would be a bit suspicious, id just give him benefit of the doubt and not be a **** and just grass him up without proof.

Well if he has permission then what does he have to worry about? Doesn't hurt to let them know, if it's allowed then nothing will happen.

However, the chances of your scenario being true are extremely slim it just doesn't sit right. He's doing it 15-20 times a week under different names, there is no easy way they could pick up on it.

My only concern is, he looks a bit of a thug, as expected, and unfortunately due to my transaction with him, he has my name, address, and phone number. Whilst he may be 400 miles away, he's gonna be pretty ****ed i've grassed him in when he gets caught.

Ah well, we'll see what happens lol

I'm pretty sure someone with the means to get to you from 400 miles away would be dealing with something a bit more potent than logitech peripherals. :D I'd go all out on him tbh, I've used Logitech customer support a few times and they've been sublime, I feel somewhat offended that someone's taking advantage of a company's good nature.

Hope this kind of crap doesn't start affecting the great customer service Logitech provide. It's crap like this that spoils it for the rest of us :(
