Hmm, good point, would proabably buy a new motherboard, graphics card, CPU and RAM, everything else I have. Might wait until the AMD 7000 series come out to see what that offers. Might also get a 24 inch screen from my 19 inch one. Probably looking at 800 ish.
ah actually i think Il switch to amd so new mobo as well but I priced it all up and not more than 300 especially as I got some quality parts atm to sell for decent prices
I may buy a 24 monitor and sell my 22 also
I have two friends who are IT Managers at large well off schools and afaik they're not on anything like that.
From a quick look at an online salary calculator, are you on £40K~?
To answer OP, hookers are in fact a great investment.
Buy a couple with the £5k, then put them to work. Give it a few weeks and you'll be quids in!
Hmm, may wait for Bulldozer to come out and see how that performs, then I'll decide between the them.
Good job having parts to sell, I don't think my current rig would sell for much at all, I'd probably keep it, buy a cheap new case and PSU and put it all in there so I have a back up.

If 5k is all the savings he's got then his perspective of worthwhile might differ somewhat to yours.
lol you think I can get buy hookers that cheap? Some Russian sex slaves? Will they need to stay with me? So if they make 150 per hour (rough guess) I will take 50% and give free acoomodation. If they do 10 gusy per week each thats 1500 qudi per wekk for me..not bad deal. If I can buy 2 hot hookers for 5000 quid?

Probably stick it in a cash ISA then blow it on a car or holiday.
After 1 year that will be some serious interest earnings![]()
