Benefits of gaming on the PC in comparison to Consoles.

look at guides/Faqs instantly e.t.c. Also allows for a more relaxing experience as you can look at other stuff while playing games e.t.c

If all consoles had the internet then I would agree.

But if you are switching from a game to do something else, then you are not gaming anymore.

It is an advantage to having a PC, but not as a gaming platform.

Oh also game price! The last time i bought a game full price for the pc was Shogun 2 at £26.

Last games i have bought:

Crysis 2 - £12.50
Assasins Creed 2 - £6.95
Bioshock 2 - £3
Witcher 2 - £13.35
Civ 5 - £5.95

You can pick up games that are a few months old for like 10-15 a lot of the time.

I wouldnt baulk at paying that much either!

Whereas new console games are £40 which is stupid.

Go and look at the pre-order price difference on Call of Juarez the Cartel on Zavvi between the console and PC versions :D

1. Better GFX
2. Can play RTS, FPS, MMO, Flight Sim the way there ment to be played
3. Mods Mods Mods!
4. Games tend to be cheaper
5. Can download most games instead of buying CD (steam)

So I can say the Pause button, as I can watch TV when not gaming?

There are many advantages a PC has as a gaming platform, I don't think being able to stop playing the game to do other things is one of them.

You're not really stopping though are you? You're switching out the game for a few seconds and then switching back. It's much more seamless than on a console.

I play on all platforms, so I'm going to disagree with many posts in here.

How are those games meant to be played?

I played Killzone 3 with the Sharpshooter/Move, which was much more immersive than with a K&M. Like racing games are better with a wheel, I think FPS should be played with a gun.

But it's not adding anything to the game.

And it's not as seemless as turning my head 90 degrees to look at my Monitor.

Can you have a FAQ/walkthrough open behind the game on the same screen that you can seamlessly switch in and out of?

No, and to me that is an advantage.

Hmm I would disagree. I agree with Yahtzee when he said that greater immersion comes from making control movements smaller so there is a shorter thinking time before performing the action. The only way things like Move and Kinect would be more immersive for FPS would be if you actually had to run and dive behind cover and there was force feedback when you get shot. Tell me how do you move forwards/strafe/jump when using the Move controller? If it was anything like that totally retarded Ghost Recon demo at E3 this year then that is not at all immersive.
