Anyone miss,,,,,CRT?

Just read about that 24" screen. Sounds nice!

Realistically though, would a decent 24" LCD do the same thing these days?

Sometimes.

I play a lot of old games which don't look too hot on today's "one decent rez only" monitors.
But being in a small box room i certainly don't miss the size of them or the heat they put out.

Can you still buy the FW900 anymore?

They're quite often on ebay - sometimes for stupidly high prices - and you have to be careful as there are some duds floating about. There's rebranded versions about too which look the same but without the nice silver finish.

They're the best monitors i've seen. 16:10 24", flat screen, support up to 2304*1440, 160hz at lower resolutions, plus all the other benefifts (and downsides - you have to look after it) of CRT.

Still got my ViewSonic Professional Series P227f.

I wish they did 30" 2560x1600 Plasma monitors as Plasma is as close as it gets to CRT.

I wish they still made CRTs fullstop. CRTs are donkeys years old and better current LCD/LED tech when it comes to picture quality - imagine what we could have now with today's resources.

Here's hoping OLED brings the best of both worlds :)

You sold a FW900 for £5  Was it in poor condition? If not you got robbed blind.

I've yet to see an lcd that comes close to matching my FW900 for gaming - especially in fps in which it's leagues ahead. I'll be waiting for OLED before changing tech.

Actually 5.50. Was some scratches on the front plastic / glass coating.

For gaming it was awesome. Shifting CRTS is a major pain in the ass, if no one baught it it was going to the bin. 99p no reserve F T W .

I also miss the "Turbo" button

Press it and you can play crysis 2 at max settings!

 Damnit. I would have given you at least £100 - lots more if it was in good condition!

Is it totally impossible to have a monitor with the image quality of CRT but with the slender frame of a tft?

What about a frame thats slightly fatter than a normal tft, I would glady pay for the quality.
