Ebay buying low cost wholesale items/Bankrupt clearence items and selling on

You can find stuff at the pound shop that sell for double if not more on ebay.

They had some little metal bench vices that were going for like £6 on ebay, thats a nice profit margin!

Also little lego sets, these were selling for £5 or so on ebay.

I lolled recently, focus DIY went under (this isn't why I lolled), my dad went to the local focus store and purchased all of the bulbs from the manager/liquidator, and a **** load of steel shelving, which was promptly sold as scrap metal, and a few other piles of random stuff too, garden furniture and so on.
I think this is the way forward. Find out who's going bust, go speak to the managers/liquidators = uber cheap crap en mass.

I tried asking the manager of Focus if he could knock off some money on a sink and he said it wasn't up to him and they can only lower prices that head office tells them to. Was it in the last few days or something?

Its a risk, I do it, and it is difficult at times. A quick profit requires a LOT of luck. I have things which do not sell, despite the price being right. Where have your calculations came from? Don't forget eBay fees, PayPal fees, taxes on what you have sold, packaging costs and the time taken to do it all, keep books up to date etc. My business takes a lot of myvtime, at least an hour or 2 every day. EBay is fickle. You might undercut everyone else, they will then reduce their prices. The chances are, they get a far better discount than you will, and can actually sell a lot lower than you.

This was about 10 days ago, and the guy who actually OK'd it was an American chap who I believe was part of the liquidation team. He didn't just buy one or two things though, he bought 1500+ bulbs (so far.. Everything they had, they're still being sorted through atm - no idea how many as of yet), lots of garden benches and things like that, and most of the steel fixtures and fittings. They had a closing down sale, but we went down the day after it closed and there still seemed to be a lot of stock. No idea what happens to that now.

It might be worth asking the manager if it's possible to go down on the last day or maybe the day after and see what's left, though I'd imagine they'll be less inclined if you're not buying bulk.

That's hardly a lot of time to dedicate to a business.

It is when I also have a proper job, working 12 hour shifts, the business makes itself money, but not enough for me to give up my main one. It is every day of course! Some days its longer, if I need to do product photographs, this obviously adds more time, as does everything else.

I have just listed these earphones on facebook sale group in my local area (small village) and so far I have a few orders :) some of which are happy to collect,
