IE users have lower IQ?

I can verify this as 100% true as a long time Opera user! :D

+1 :D

Since I installed Opera, I've never been able to use anything else. Both Firefox and Chrome just didnt feel right.

Most people start using IE, then the clever ones discover firefox or chrome and stay with those. But then the super geniuses try Opera out, and are mind blown by the amount of sheer awesomeness contained within that web brwser.

This is also 100% true! I haz factual evidence from a link on teh interwebs :D

^^ Joke.

Shame Opera and Camino users still aren't smart enough to stop wolfing down the over priced ******* apple feeds them every few months.

???

I use Opera and dont buy anything from Apple. Unless you mean my cup full of Innocent Apple Juice which 'feeds' me very nicely, YUM!

I started using firefox at the recommendation of a friend and ditched IE entirely. Then I discovered Opera myself and now I cant get into using either firefox or chrome, they feel completely wrong.

Typical anti Apple tosh, in a completely unrelated thread.

I use Firefox and, going from the average person I see using IE the ~80 IQ wouldn't surprise me :p

At least they're being sensible - i've never bought anything from Apple either. If they would release something good, for a non-extortionate price then maybe i would consider it, but you can't really have a problem with not giving them money otherwise.

Like an ultraportable laptop that's the same price and faster than the equivilent competition? (MacBook Air vs. Samsung series 9).

Or a tablet that's the same price as the competition? (iPad vs Xoom, Samsung 10.1)

Or an all in one that has no competitor? (27" iMac)

I don't. But this thread has nothing to do with Apple yet people still feel the need to insult Apple users (and that's as someone with 2 self built PCs and a HP laptop). It's just childish.

I've got Firefox installed on my PC, earlier this year about May version 4 came out and was riddled with memory leaks, cue version 5 about six weeks later and it's still riddle with memory leaks.

I didnt say anything anti apple other than stating I havnt bought any of their products in reply to a person who assumed that Opera users must be buying 'overpriced BS' from Apple.

If you think thats anti apple, then I suppose I am also anit car because I dont own a car, or anti holiday because I dont like going them, or anti figs because I never buy figs etc etc etc.

Well it's been riddled with memory leaks since version 0.1 :p I still think it's the nicest to use though.

I was answering your numerous questions marks... you know, agreeing with you. I.E. Aedus is posting the usual rubbish, not you!

Fairly obvious - IE is the default browser so the majority use it. Only people interested in tech will bother to upgrade and those interested in tech will generally have a higher IQ than those interested in X Factor.

Exactly this.

What a totally ridiculous article.

I use firefox.

However, I have used every browser, and selected the best one for me. I guess this makes me even more intelligent.

On the contrary, i don't think it makes any sort of difference. Someone can try every browser and then decide that the best one for them is a toy 'myfirstbrowser'.

Well how about we just pretend it's like real life for a second and not the internet, and say something along the lines of 'i don't agree with your opinion, but i respect your right to hold it' ;)

If that survey reflects true results then that must mean some of us have an IQ is serious fluctuation, hmmm wonder if there are pills for that.
I have a tendancy to go through all the browsers from time to time but usually default to Chrome simply because its fast light and has absalutly no buttons haha.

I do remember when IE9 was in beta, downloaded it to give it a shot Zone Alarm chucked a hissy fit about it and kept crashing it which pretty much told me everything i needed to know, give up its junk LOL

I could be wrong, but as far as I could see there was no statement around numbers of respondents to the survey broken down by browser.

If only 2 people who use Opera answered the survey and both had an IQ of 120 then it would appear that Opera users have a higher IQ on average than the 60,000 that answered that used IE. Despite the fact that there could have been significantly more IE users with higher IQ than the Opera users.

Silly survey :)

The full report (such as it is) is linked to on the Antiquant page that I posted earlier, this applies for any browser where there were more than 500 respondents although I understand your general point that browsers with large numbers of users are much more likely to have a wide spread of user intelligence than a browser which is niche.

Unless you mean my cup full of Innocent Apple Juice which 'feeds' me very nicely, YUM!

Probably not the best example of an apple product that isn't overpriced though. :p
