Government drops website blocking

What I cannot understand is, why don't the MPAA and other organisations spend all this wasted money from court cases and paying off the authorities etc, and use it to come up with more up-to-date ways of delivering media to us? TV shows are downloaded from the internet because they show in the US and then are made available to other countries, at high prices, many months after the show's US release. Sometimes even months after the show finishes running. Films are damn expensive on either DVD or Blu-ray, and music, despite being downloadable through iTunes and other MP3 platforms, is still pretty expensive even as digital copies.

I'm not saying it will stop the pirates, but it would have a massive impact on who buys what in the future.

Sky Atlantic is a perfect example on Sky HD. I love how a lot of the new shows that it has are aired a day or two after the US. I can bet if other TV channels did the same, that a lot of people that download the TV show would watch it on TV instead.

It seems that none of these people are actually willing to learn and modernise their services and products. Shame really.

iDroid84... Troll or just completely dumb? I suggest the latter... don't argue with people like this.. they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

iDroid84, a question for you. Is the earth flat or round?

They should not ban Google, however they should ask Google to control their search results e.t.c what can and what can't be searched. For example Torrents, porn, hacking e.t.c.

If I pirate something then I would never have any intention of buying it anyway, so it's a non-issue, the company doesn't lose any money from a sale, because the sale was never there to begin with, therefor it's not theft. I mean lets be honest, how many normal people who want to use a program like 3DSMAX just as something to play with, would actually pay that price for it? If you're in a company or a professional, sure. But £2000+ is ridiculous for software. Same thing with most people who own photoshop, and other software like that.

Indeed, and there is an argument proposed that pirating actually increases sales ...

The same cannot be said for what the majority of pirated media is though.. games and films.

You're perfectly entitled to an opinion, just like we're entitled to correct any massive errors in judgement.

Calling it theft is ok, as a personal opinion. What you need to recognise is that legally speaking it is very obvious that it isn't theft.

It doesn't belong to the people who download it illegally as they never paid for it in the first place to view/use/listen/install to in the first place.

We can certainly judge that you have a crap grasp of the English Language.

and I certainly know that because your behind the screen all you lot do on here act hard and stuck up for that very reason. ;)

Yep, that doesn't make it theft, who have they stolen it from? It makes it infringement of copyright.
