Is it worth waiting for, and buying, an AMD Bulldozer?

So I was going to get an i7-2600K but was wondering whether I should wait for the AMD Bulldozer?

Can anyone find any benchmarks or things like that?

I know the clocks.

Is the Bulldozer more future proof than an i7-2600K because of the 8 cores and a fast clock?

Thanks in advance,
Billy

P.S.I was hoping to keep the CPU for 4 or 5 years.

Also called finite element analysis or FEA, the package I'm using is called COMSOL.

Its basically simulating the real world. You create a model using CAD software, mesh it (basically split it into polygons), and you solve your physics equations over that mesh, deforming the mesh when needed.

You could for instance build a heat sink, set the base as a heat source, define your air flow and see what the temperature is.
Very very powerful technique in physics and engineering, but massively computer intensive.

The core clock of an 8170 is 3.9GHz to 4.5GHz without even OCing. With OCing it has been recorded to go to 5.1GHz
