I bought the Hd 6870 Hawk graphics card about 2 months ago, and I've just noticed that a different version of it has appeared in the store. The Hd 6870 Black Edition.
Looking at the specs listed the Black edition seems to be slightly better, but then its marked at a lower price... Am i missing something about the hawk version? And do you think there would be any way i could return the Hawk version and buy the Black edition if it is better?

Cheers.

Your card in theory would probably run cooler and quieter.

You would not be able to return your card unless there was a fault, the only other option would be to sell and purchase the new card.

So if i were to overclock the hawk further, and attempt the same with the black edition i could theoretically get higher specs on my card than the new one?

Sorry, I'm going to have to be blunt.

No you can't return it unless it's faulty.

The price of computer components change all the time.

Sometimes they go up and sometimes they go down.

If you're going to have buyers remorse then you'd better stop buying PC components. Eventually there'll always be something better and/or cheaper.

Your card has a better and quieter cooler.

Just overclock it and be happy.
