depends on the type of work its been upto, If its been on motorways its entire live then i doubt theirs anything to worry about but if its a urban run around it may have issues due to the higher stress levels.
But its a £200 car, if anything goes wrong you can go scrappies and buy cheap parts for peanuts or buy a new car.

just done a quick insurance check on one of the comparison sites and they want 400 quid! i thought my age and 11 yrs driving expereince with have counted for something. obviously not it seems :(

Sounds like an OK quote to me if you do not have any no claims discount?

I would expect to pay a lot less than that, then. However there are a huge number of external factors which will impact the quote so its hard to comment on whether a specific quote is good or bad.

Errr I paid 400 quid for my 530i with 4 years NCB not 11! Thats a very expensive quote!

exactly what i thought. funnily enough ive just tinkered witth the voluntry excess slider and taken it done to 0 and its now quoted me 335. this is with my wife as a named driver but if i take her off it goes up to 440!

im gonna just have to phone around rather than use the comparison sites i think

Has it got t&t? If so, just buy it and put fuel in it until it dies or you don't want to pay for the next MOT. Then weigh it in and get most your cash back...

£200? Sounds ideal. 115k is not high mileage at all. Especially for a car of that age. My old Mondy was still A1 at 145k. My current car is on 150k. Old rover was fine at 150k ish. My old Golf GTI has 200k on the clock. Cars don't just stop working at 100k :)

Is it a Mk2 or Mk3?

The Mk3 are a bit more robust - the front suspension doesn't chomp up bushes like the Mk2 does and they have chain driven engines.

IMO either is worth a punt at £200 really though.
