You can see my point though - that claim limit would easily cover two of us on a trip to the USA. On a single person policy advertised quite clearly as a single person policy, it simply wouldnt be a stress free claim experience thats for sure..

Oh I don't deny the intention probably isn't to do so but my view is that the wording doesn't work as (probably) intended.

Kinda wish the OP doesn't get the money so they can take it to court and get an official verdict on the wording. Have to say I would go for it, but then my day job is having fun with tax legislation so I do a lot of reading into the details of wording

Edit: I actually like Fox, just to mix it up a little.

At first i was a little wary of Fox but hes a great guy now in my opinion.

I have never really had much conversation with him but he always seems helpful and knowledgeable to me!

You do have to be careful sometimes though, his posting style is the same even when not correct! Seem to remember him telling someone quite certainly that you couldn't become an accountant without a good degree

No, we have confirmation that our money shall be reimbursed. I did state my disdain for said individual has been around for quite some time.

Haha! Ill have to be cautious if i ever need advice from the clever Mr Fox then!

But in this case I agree with what he is saying and believe that what he is saying is true.

Just a bit of an update. The hotel has very kindly agreed to let us change booking without incurring any charge, so for a small fee to change flight details we have now been able to rearrange the holiday for the middle of September.

I used to think Fox was a little bit OTT, but now can appreciate he is quite a character and one of the regulars on here I look upto. Good advice all round from what I can see.

Surprised you're paying to change your flights if you could get a full refund?

Well we want to go away that is the whole point and the flights are more expensive at other times. The easiest solution was for me to pay to change the flights which I did at a small cost. I have no problems with the advice TW FOX provides it is more about the way he conveys that to people. Maybe he is not like that in real life, he could be the nicest person in the world. I don't know.

Yep this was the preferred option since we do want to go away and have a blast. Originally it looked as though we were not going to be allowed to change the hotel booking hence why a refund was sought. However, the hotel have now kindly agree to change the booking. Although I am rather shocked at the way people ganged up on me here. I won't be bullied into liking someone, whatever.
