Brink free for a couple of days

Well if anyone is considering buying this from steam just thought u better know you can get it from GAME for £7.98 and yes it will activate on steam.
 
Very fun with mates if you work to do the objectives as a team.

Rubbish when you get stuck on a team of people treating it like a deathmatch game, which I suspect will be common on a free weekend. :(
 
Just had a quick 30min blast. You know what? It's not as bad as I expected to be.
TF2 but slower maybe (I'm one of those rare people that doesn't like TF2 much). Heavy on the teamplay though, which I do like.

I probably wouldn't get it unless it was dirt cheap mind. Not something I'd get heavily into (unlike BC2 which I lost a whole year to O_o)
 
Install - Run - Play 2mins - Exit Game (don't even give it the chance to close normally, used task manager.) - Steam - Brink - Delete Local Content.
 
I played for a bit and it didn't seem as bad as some people are making out, but the main problem is that it resets my speedlink router every few mins, so had to stop as other net users in the house are not happy :p
 
Rather good game, great even, but maybe it lacks depth and longevity a bit. The games tend to stop at same choke points most of the time, unless either of the teams knows what they are actually doing. Which isn't happening in public games.

I think the parkour is actually better than that of Mirror's Edge. I always got stuck and lose momentum in Mirror's Edge, or accidentally jump off the buildings and die. Seems a lot smoother in Brink but could be just me and my clumsy fingers.
 
Don't get the hate, played 82 mins so far, quite fun.

Its a bit like a mixture of TF2 and the UT2k4 assault missions.

I think people are just hopping on the bandwagon with all the slightly pathetic hating. Its certainly not an awful game, might not be that great, but its probably a 60-70% game.
 
The problem is it had so much potential and they simply screwed it up. Its advertised as a class based FPS but you soon realise that you are basically stuck playing 1 class and if you need to swap to another to help the team you are gimping yourself. The maps tend to be heavily biased towards the defenders too which becomes REALLY obvious after a few games, particularly if you play Aquarium.

Though yes I suspect there is a lot of bandwagonning in here... as you can probably tell from the people who claim to have deleted it after 2 minutes :rolleyes:

This. "Oh noes. The introduction and setting up my character that took longer than two minutes was so rubbish, I'm going to forego playing a single round of the actual game entirely."
