An Iron Is HOT! :/ Check My Burn Please? :/

Hey everyone, its my first time posting in this area of OCUK, but i burnt my hand on a friends iron earlier today lol, being as clumbsy as i am i hit my hand on it as it was lying hanging over the ironing board and i went to put it un straight and i hit my hand on the end :/ i hit it quite hard and pushed the iron back nearly off the other side of the board and so my burn went black/greyish and a layer of my skin just washed off! :O its white underneath and can feel around the burn but not the white patch, it feels like leather and im kinda worried :/ heres some pictures, can anyone tell me what i should do and whether or not it willl heal okay, ill be putting a plaster over it later to prevent infection aswell, many, many thanks! :/

P.S: Sorry about the image quality, i only have an ipod to hand :/

For minor burns, hold the affected area under cold water for at least 10 minutes or until the pain subsides. Remove jewellery etc. and cover the burn as detailed above.

If a minor burn is larger than a postage stamp it requires medical attention. All deep burns of any size require urgent hospital treatment.

I'd go to the docs, they might give you antibiotics to stop it getting infected. Wouldn't bother with A&E, you'll be waiting hours for a minor burn like that.

Go to A&E unless you want it to scar. That needs treatment.

EDIT: Wait, is that white patch just a blister? The pictures are pretty bad. Not sure if I would bother going to A&E. Looked a lot worse the first time I looked at it.

OP, you want to place the iron back on the area and this will reverse the burn.
