I'm surprised by this, I always got the impression he was a pretty handy driver.

He seems ok but I'm not sure how the car faired.

He must have been cocky after topping the Top Gear leader board. ;)

Glad he's ok, shame about the MF1. :(

I'm sure he can afford to replace it though.

Doesn't matter how good you are... can always run out of talent.

Even the best drivers in the world have a limit as to what they can do with a car :p

Probably just a silly little mistake... going round a corner, just a slight mis-judgement on the right pedal in one of these and you'll spin out very quickly.
 
What a shame! Those F1s are awesome, well at least it was being driven rather than living in a garage the whole time.
 
If it was on fire for some time then it will probably be beyond repair. The F1 is such an iconic car and it's sad that there is now one less out on the road.
 
It will almost certainly be repaired, extensive damage usually gets repaired on F1s, even extensive fire damage. The photo I saw did not show any fire damage in any case and the car looked relatively "ok".

It died doing what it did best. Now if it had been destroyed while sat in his garage... that would be a tragedy.
