Im trying to install the gigabyte gtx 280 on my motherboard but im not sure which of these two gpu connectors(http://www.alfatecinfo.com.br/imagens/produtos/2812.jpeg) to put it on. One (the light blue) is turned the wrong way around for the gpu so all the connectors (dvi ect) are in the wrong direction and the other (blue) has something sticking out at the back end as you can see so i cant put it on that.
Thanks for your help.

It goes in the PCI-e slot (the darker blue one). The thing sticking out the back is just securing clip; it doesn't get in the way at all. Really though, it's not that hard as it's the only slot that it will fit in!

The other one is a regular PCI slot. You can use two different types of cards together to power several monitors, but you can't use multiple cards in that way to run games or any 3d apps. I'd seriously advise against putting any other card in that PCI slot anyway as it will cut off the air to the 580's fan intake.

If you want to run xfire/SLI then you need a new motherboard.

First off, that would be ridiculous. Secondly, it won't work because you only have 1 pci-e slot. You can only run a single card on that board.

Well i was only gona get a gt 9600, but the gtx 280 was only a tenner more so i got that instead. I have it working now but do i have to use the dvi cable on the card or can i use the hdmi cable on the motherboard and will it still be recognised when playing games?

If you connect to the HDMI on the motherboard you'd be using the onboard GPU and not the graphics card and it's unlikely you can use the on board GPU and the graphics card at the same time.

Just leave it as it is using the DVI from the graphics card.

There's no benefit to be gained by doing anything else.
