Just bought a Cogage Arrow cpu cooler but the damn thing is too big for the board. First issue was the top bracket that screws through the board into the back plate was touching a cap, and then when it was mouted (test mouting I never turned it on) it was blocking the first pci-e slot.

First question is although ive opened the packets to mount the brackets etc can I still return it under dsr?

Secondly anyone with the board what coolers do you have installed. Looks like I may be going back to the H100 idea.

pic below gives you and idication of how the fit was, thats with a cheap gt430 didnt want to risk my gtx 570 as that has a load more chips etc and exposed pins that could easily short.

Obviously its not a limitation of the case but the board, currently using a freezer pro rev 2 which tbh is ok but i want something better
 
You can still return it under the DSR as long as you bought it mail order.

You're entitled to open the packaging to examine the goods.

You'll have to pay for the return postage though.

Unfortunately I can't help with what cooler will fit.
 
Perhaps something a lot simpler such as a Corsair H60/80/Antec 620/920 will be the easiest solution for you.

The head assembly is a lot more compact and doesnt overhang the socket much.

yeah i actually had a antec 620, whilst it wasnt bad these small pumps still have an irritating buzz, maybe its my ears are over sensitive to that kind of thing......

Yeah what i thought but i know the place can be arsy! its not ocuk, if it had been a couple of mm clearance that would have been fine, but that in my opinion is too close to risk it, shame as it looked like a nice cooler, my guess is the thermaltake silver arrow etc will be the same (same company as cogage apparantly)
 
I think so, beauty of the case is I can fit a 240 rad in the top, so im still wondering if its best to do h100 or custom.....
