Yeah I know the title sounds nutty as.
But seriously it isn't too far fetched that within a few generations people will start living to very old age - 150 years+ etc...
It also doesn't take too much imagination to realise that given the technological advances we've made over the previous century then over the next century we might well start to find ways to slow down/counter the aging process.
If you told someone 100 years ago that in the future people could be fitted with a mechanical heart, or valves taken from a pigs heart etc.. then they'd think you were mad. (now for the streaching it a bit sci-fi bit...) Is it that outlandish to think that in the future someone could almost create an 'API' so to speak to the brain, perhpas extend part of your brain onto a small computer and even start to replace the biological part node by node as it ages/dies... thus 'you' as a sentient being could still exist albeit as a machine... you'd be 'immortal' to an extent...
As technology for living much longer becomes available are we going to be one of the last few generations that only gets to live to 90-ish... when future generations start to age much slower and have significantly longer lives...
Also would there be a divide within society - as technology starts to become available will poor people carry on living to 90 ish whilst rich people can afford to extend their lives much further..
