Driving in the Rain, with Sunglasses?

As with most people, I wear sunglasses when driving for obvious reasons. I always wondered about this in law though. It's clearly legal to wear them, yet your windscreen is already at the maximum legally permitted tint level from factory.

Add in sunglasses and you've just reduced the light reaching you by a huge amount - definitely way in excess of the legal requirement if it had been a window tint instead of glasses... and yet this is fine? Weird one. :)

If the rain was really bad, then I used to wear my cycling glasses with the yellow tint lenses fitted. That's makes a real big difference for driving in the rain.

You ask far too many sensible questions RM ;)

If you get a decent pair of sunglasses the light isn't reduced much, more so the glare of the sun.

You realise that you cannot remove a windscreen and side windows at night like you can sunglasses right?

Honestly, I despair of some peoples logic.

I almost always wear sunglasses when driving during the day, improves contrast and means I can concentrate on the road rather than squinting or suffering from occasional flash blindness.

You can wind down the windows, and, if you have a Landrover Defender or previous versions of, lower your windscreen.
:p
